An eclectic musician, that’s for sure. In this new album, entirely dedicated to the music of Gnattali, the Brazilian pianist Luís Rabello brings an historically valuable release to the international audience, with the world premiere recordings of several compositions. The album is a portrait of Gnattali's piano music, with heart warming melodies, dazzling virtuosity and a blend of Brazilian musical flavours where Classical music meets Jazz, Bossa-Nova, Samba and Choro.

Whether the music is private (Manhosamente [Slyly]) or outgoing, simple or virtuosic, Rabello, whose family was close to Gnattali, tosses it all off with conviction and a sure rhythmic sense. The engineering is first-rate, as usual from this label. This is worth a gamble: You’ll know quickly whether or not it paid off.
