About the album

In 2018, Wytske Holtrop graduated cum laude for her master’s degree at the Haute École de Musique de Genève (Geneva University of Music), where she studied with professor François Guye. She obtained a highly distinguished bachelor’s degree at the Koninklijk Conservatorium of Brussels (Royal Conservatoire of Brussels) with professor Jeroen Reuling. As of the 2019 - 2020 concert season, Wytske will be playing with the Konzerthausorchester in Berlin, as a member of the Kurt Sanderling orchestra academy. She actively took part in numerous masterclasses with, among others, Natalia Gutman, Gary Hoffman and Nicolas Altstaedt.

Wytske performed as a soloist with several Dutch orchestras and regularly plays solo recitals. She appeared internationally in festivals as the Internationaal Kamermuziekfestival Schiermonnikoog (The Netherlands) and the Ars SummerFest in Vilnius (Lithuania). In 2015 – 2016, Wytske was selected for the orchestra academy of the National Orchestra of Belgium. She won several prizes contesting in the Stichting Jong Muziektalent Nederland (a foundation that stimulates talented young musicians in The Netherlands) and the Prinses Christina Concours. In addition, she won the Prix du Musée Bonnat during the Académie Ravel in Saint Jean de Luz (France). In 2018, Wytske was awarded the Frisian Emmy ‘Runner-up Award’, named after and from the hands of the renowned Dutch violinist Emmy Verhey. Wytske plays a cello by Tanguy Fraval, Brussels (2011) and uses a bow by Doriane Bodart, Paris (2016).
Wytske Holtrop schloss 2018 ihr Masterstudium an der Haute École de Musique de Genève (Musikhochschule Genf) mit Auszeichnung ab, an der sie bei Professor François Guye studierte. Sie erwarb einen hochrangigen Bachelor-Abschluss am Koninklijk Conservatorium in Brüssel (Royal Conservatoire of Brussels) bei Professor Jeroen Reuling. Ab der Konzertsaison 2019 - 2020 spielt Wytske mit dem Konzerthausorchester Berlin als Mitglied der Kurt Sanderling Orchesterakademie. Sie nahm aktiv an zahlreichen Meisterkursen teil, unter anderem bei Natalia Gutman, Gary Hoffman und Nicolas Altstaedt.

Wytske trat als Solistin mit mehreren niederländischen Orchestern auf und spielt regelmäßig Solo-Rezitals. Sie trat international bei Festivals wie dem Internationalen Kamermuziekfestival Schiermonnikoog (Niederlande) und dem Ars SummerFest in Vilnius (Litauen) auf. In den Jahren 2015 - 2016 wurde Wytske für die Orchesterakademie des Nationalorchesters Belgien ausgewählt. Sie gewann mehrere Preise im Wettbewerb der Stichting Jong Muziektalent Nederland (eine Stiftung, die talentierte junge Musiker in den Niederlanden fördert) und des Prinses Christina Concours. Darüber hinaus gewann sie den Prix du Musée Bonnat während der Académie Ravel in Saint Jean de Luz (Frankreich). Im Jahr 2018 wurde Wytske mit dem friesischen Emmy'Runner-up Award' ausgezeichnet, benannt nach und aus den Händen des renommierten niederländischen Geigers Emmy Verhey. Frans Douwe Slot (1983) received his bachelor’s degree at the former Noord-Nederlands Conservatorium, where he studied with Tamara Poddubnaya and Nata Tsvereli. He then continued his studies at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht with Klára Würtz, where he graduated cum laude for his master’s degree. In 2009, he studied at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest with Balázs Szokolay. He has recorded two solo CDs and he has performed in Germany, Hungary, Bulgaria, Russia and Guatemala. In November 2014, after a long medical search, Frans Douwe was diagnosed with focal dystonia. After an intensive medical rehabilitation, he has returned to the concert stage, starting by playing in ensembles. Since 2021, Frans Douwe is giving solo recitals again and is very active in various chamber music performances.
