Wired Paradise has moved on: all of Honing’s brand new compositions are based on movie characters and represent a blend of rock, electro and jazz inspired by Hollywood classics.
This is the first recording with Paul Jan Bakker as second guitarist, who also contributed one song (Pussy Wagon). Bakker teams up strongly with avant-garde guitarist Frank Möbus.
Kaiser Sozé (The Usual Suspects) and Rollo Thomasi (L.A. Confidential) represent rock with layers of dance and a very effective collaboration between the two guitarists.
On Pussy Wagon (Kill Bill) and Lost, Honing’s soprano saxophone is clear and aggressive. On various other pieces his tenor saxophone blends perfect with Möbus’s guitar, playing the melodies together.
Recorded and mixed in the best two studios in Europe (Wisseloord and Galaxy), Meet your Demons represents fresh and daunting music that is clearly rooted in modern times.
An international promotion tour (London, Amsterdam, München, Zurich and Vienna) follows in fall 2008.

Die zweite CD von "Wired Paradise" - der Band von Yuri Honing, erweitert um den deutschen Gitarristen Frank Möbus - knüpft nahtlos an die erste an, für die die Kritik einhellig Lob verteilte: "Einsame Spitze" urteilte FonoForum und vergab zweimal fünf Sterne., und Josef Engels stellte im "Rondo" fest: "Fakt ist, dass Honing und die Seinen mit postideologischer Gelassenheit neue Höhen des Jazzrock erklimmen." Gerade der letztere Pfad wird auf "Meet Your Demons" weiter beschritten: die Vernetzung rockorientierter Gitarrensounds mit der Aura des Jazz gelingt der Band aufs Neue - und noch weiter verstärkt. Yuri Honing, ein Star (nicht nur) in seiner Heimat, ist nach wie vor nicht bereit, sich einem Schema unterzuordnen. In 2001, Honing met Paul Bley and recorded the album Seven, featuring Bley on piano, Gary Peacock on bass, and Paul Motian on drums. This album garnered Honing the Dutch Edison Award in 2002. In The Penguin Guide to Jazz (8th Edition), this CD was recognized with four (out of five) stars. For a few years Honing organized a special concert named Winterreise at the Paradiso in Amsterdam. In December 2015 he played his final show at the venue. After the success of his fusion band Yuri Honing Wired Paradise, which was characterized by its rock influence and electric guitars, Honing assembled his Acoustic Quartet in 2012.
