"Music acts like a magic key, to which the most tightly closed heart opens." - Maria von Trapp

Black Market Audio are two fanatic multi-instrumentalist with their roots in the seventies but with their feet firmly in the new millenium. After extended clubtours and recording-work they now concentrate on making their own almost illegal dancemusic.

Black Market Audio's music is heavily influenced by seventies soulfunk, B-movie soundtracks, obscure Italo-funk and bizarre easy-tune they create their own crime-grooves, detective beats, police-themes and spy-jazz, funked up with beatnik bongos and vintage synths, guitars, amps and effects.

Black Market Audio's first album 'Autoroma' has drawn world-wide attention since its release in 2001. The swinging tracks made by Prof. Wah and E-Smog [Arjo van Loo and Bert Taken] can be found on compilations from the Netherlands [Lowlands, Dutch Dance], Italy [Il Giaguaro, La Doche Party] and Japan [I Was a Yehyeh Girl].

The popularity of 'Get Down' is not new. The song was used in the well-known series 'Queer as Folk' in Canada and the US, in a commercial for the Italian firm 'Buffeti', and a year after that in the commercial for US beer-brand 'Michelob Light'. Even Walt Disney used music from Black Market Audio, they used the song 'Here Comes The DaDa-Man' for the trailer of the movie 'The ice princes'.
