Flanders Symphony Orchestra is one of the leading orchestras in Flanders. Composed of very passionate musicians and led by well-known conductors, the Flanders Symphony Orchestra plays new compositions as well as innovative interpretations of the well-known symphonic repertoire from the classical period. Founded in 1960, the orchestra has been conducted by distinguished conductors such as David Angus, Etienne Siebens, Seikyo Kim and Jan Latham-Koenig. Since 2019, the orchestra has been led by the new chief conductor Kristina Poska.
