About the album

Tubis Trio is a Poland-based trio featuring Maciej Tubis (piano), Paweł Puszczało (double bass) and Przemysław Pacan (drums). After the release of a album recorded Live in 2009, Live in Luxembourg, Tubis Trio is back with a beautiful album. The Truth is their debut on Challenge Records as well as their first studio album. The record brings us easy listening jazz music which may appeal to a broad audience. The Truth features 10 gems all written by the gifted pianist and band leader Maciej Tubis.

Tubis Trio about ''the Truth'' :
This is our story, our emotions. There is no reasoned reckoning, hence the spontaneous reactions of the audience during our concerts. We want to share our joy of music-making with others. Jazz or not, it doesn't matter. What matters is the Truth.

Tubis Trio

The associations with American bands, Brad Mehldau Trio and The Bad Plus, are not a coincidence – similar waves of artistic expression and creative passion experienced by the musicians flow from the stage during the concerts given by Tubis Trio. And most importantly, the audience feels that passion as well. The musicians of Tubis Trio experience pure joy during the concerts. When you listen to them, you know that they feel free as birds. They have no limits and thus they “fly away” to unknown lands. The trip with them, full of surprises and exciting experiences, is well worth taking. Their music is characterized by catchy melodies, infectious, tight and pop-like rhythms full of syncopes and lyrical solos from Tubis in particular. The compositions are very accessible, without being superficial. Because the floor is mainly in the mutual energy and the dynamic interplay, where the trio complement each other nicely.
Jazzism, 15-12-2017

Besides offering plenty of detail under the surface, The Truth can just as easily serve as jazz for people who don't normally like jazz: a charming and genuinely buoyant listen for just about any taste
All About Jazz, 15-9-2017

Very promising debut.
